[Vwdiesel] add metal flake metallic to TREMCLAD rust paint?

I bought an el-cheapo $5.00 can of GLOSS TREMCLAD dark blue paint today to
see if it would look alright on the Golf. I think I am going to spray this
color on once it gets a bit warmer outside. Maybe a month or so's time.
Just breaking the freezing point most days here currently.

I'll go back and get more paint, but I was wondering if anyone knew if there
was somehow an easy and CHEAP way to add a bit of metallic to this pastel
solid colored paint. Metallic car paint and all that goes with it, is WAY
out of my budget for this car, but if I could add even a wee bit of sparkles
to this paint, it would really set it off.

ideas? info?

thanks!

Could you not add children's glitter (fine flaked) to an
outside wood varnish and spray on as an overcoat to you
favourite cheepo paint?

Rustoleum makes a nice metallic dark blue in a spray can....

Its stayed on my Dad's camper for two years now, so it can't be that bad.
Finding the right touch up paint is pretty easy too.

Buy a can of the same stuff only in silver and add the two together. That
or
go to an auto paint place and get a half pint or so of metallic to add.
Might
just be like silver/aluminum paint or might be bigger particles. Also might
be able to sweet talk a body shop out of a teaspoon or so of pearl. It
doesn't take much of that.

Dude, forget the spray bombs and brush or roll it on. I kid you not.
You could mix some Al powder into it for metallic... but seriously, the
brush marks are there when you are done for the first five minutes. Let it
sit undisturbed until dry, and the marks flow out and are GONE. Try it. I
couldn't believe it the first coat I put on the rollcage of my new car. All
the brush sins were gone the next morning. Way I look at it with autobody,
you can do it all right the first time, or just dump a can on the roof and
spread it with a broom. Eventually, the results all look the same if you
don't go all out and do it right the first time.

POR-15 is the same way. Spray it on and oranges are smoother.
Brush it on and it's never smooth. Bad enough to drive a paint picky
person like me, up a tree! Look at it several hours later and you have
a black mirror! Some of the smoothest paint I've seen! It REALLY
knows the meaning of "flow out."
